To whom it may concern,
Over the course of these past two weeks or so we have had the privilege of meeting with and listening to the ideas of the various candidates running for NISG President and Vice President and, after careful deliberation, we have determined our endorsement: Drew Stensland and Kristen Ahart!
Drew and Kristen have been impossible to ignore throughout the course of their careers here at UNI, whether it's Drew making change in the Residence Hall Association, Kristen as an Orientation Staff member and President of the Lettuce Club, or both of them having direct impacts as senators in NISG. Drew and Kristen have shown their dedication to service, commitment to community, and love of UNI time and time again, and by running for office they seek to prove themselves again.
The two are focusing on issues that are important not only to the student body, but to underfunded and underrepresented student organizations like us. Through the multiple meetings we had with Drew and Kristen them emphasized the importance of organizations like ours, orgs. that have all of their events on the weekends, for destroying the stigma of UNI being a "suitcase college." We have struggled with game attendance, funding, and lack of publicity for years, and Drew and Kristen have given solutions to these issues and have committed to work with us and clubs like us in order to bring us the recognition and community we deserve.
Drew and Kristen's platform of student support, student community, and student engagement and the ideas and solutions that they offer are unparalleled by any other campaign, and we are excited to see the reformation of our campus that they will bring. UNI Men's Rugby is proud to endorse Drew Stensland and Kristen Ahart for NISG President and Vice President, and we look forward to working with them and their cabinet in the near future.
